While last year’s Met Gala theme Punk: Chaos to Couture gave us a lot to talk about (Kimye anyone?).
This year’s theme was certainly a welcome return to glamour. This year’s theme was Charles James: Beyond Fashion. In short the “Great American Couturier” and his bespoke gowns could be seen on many a fashion icon from the 30’s even into the 70’s. Last night both the women and men could be seen paying homage to the structured and adorned glamour James became known for in his career. While there were some missteps overall the 2014 guidelines helped elevate the level of dressing at last night’s charity event. Here are some of my best and worst looks of the night.
