Best & Worst: Golden Globes 2014

I hope everyone enjoyed the Golden Globe Awards yesterday. I found myself text messaging, tweeting, posting on Facebook, and Instagram about what the stars were wearing during the red carpet coverage as well as throughout the show. It was great to see so many trends displayed. Unfortunately for some of our favorite actresses, their stylists decided to take the night off. For others, it was their night to shine. Here is my Golden Globes wrap-up, the best, the worst, and honorable mention.

The Best

Lupita Nyong'oLupita Nyong’o shows that simplicity is the name of the game. Wearing a vibrant red caped gown by Ralph Lauren, she led the ladies in red yesterday.

Monique Lhuillier gownsTV personality, Louise Roe was wearing one of my predicted gowns from earlier in the week. She looked stunning in this Monique Lhuillier gown, in the color of the evening.

Olivia WildeOlivia WIlde looked stunning in this dark green sequined gown by Gucci. Showing off her baby bump in a body hugging silhouette was a statement in itself. Pregnancy is beautiful!

Kerry WashingtonKerry Washington rounded out my best dressed. Her Balenciaga gown was an understated and classic choice for the expecting Scandal star. She never disappoints!

Honorable Mentions

Amy Poehler Julia Louise-Dreyfus Kate Beckinsale

Amy Poehler looked gorgeous in this black micro cutout gown by Stella McCartney.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus once again chose Narcisco Rodriguez to dress her for the red carpet.

Kate Beckinsale is consistently a red carpet favorite. She nailed it in this strapless gown by Zuhair Murad.

The Worst

Kaley Cuoco-SweetingKaley Cuoco Sweeting has consistently been on my worst dressed list. She doesn’t seem to have a good understanding of colors and silhouettes that look good on her body. Since her hair and makeup tend to follow suit it’s a head to toe let down for me. She wore Rani Zakhem.

Zoe Saldana Sandra BullockBoth Zoe Saldana and Sandra Bullock chose Prabal Gurung for their looks yesterday. Although their choices are completely different, both left me wondering what they thinking when they said yes to the dress.

Paula PattonPaula Patton is a gorgeous woman so I’m wondering why she chose this Stephane Rolland gown that essentially covers up half her body with a head to toe ruffle. It is possible that her husband, Robin Thicke is standing beside her but you wouldn’t know it.

Drew Barrymore Monique Lhuillier gownI hate doing this but Drew Barrymore why?! Wearing a Monique Lhuillier gown inspired by what? Valentine’s Day? Even the model walking the runway looked ridiculous. I applaud her for committing to full runway look but it didn’t work for me. I will say her hair and makeup looked amazing.

I hope you enjoyed my red carpet in review. I would love to see what some of your hits and misses were.
