There are a lot of interpretations of this quote. I would like to think that it means that we are all blank canvases and based on how we present ourselves we can be various works of art. Fashion is one of the many expressions of art and as we’ve learned art is in the eye of the beholder.
What a woman likes to wear is based on a lot of factors – comfort level, body image, lifestyle, and budget just to name a few. Wanting to look great and having the ability to do so are two different things.
Here are a few tips to looking like a Work of Art
1) Regardless of what you’re wearing try a little lip gloss and mascara – it goes a long way! Try a lip stain that can double as color for your cheeks. I like Posie Tint ($30) by Benefit Cosmetics. It is very natural and give cheeks and lips a rosy glow! Don’t have a Benefit near you? Their line is also carried at Sephora. My favorite mascara is Eyes to Kill ($30) by Giorgio Armani Beauty. You can find it at Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, and select Emporio Armani locations.
2) Wear a print that speaks to you! I love this dress by Finders Keepers ($189.95). Not only does it look like a beautiful painting but it reminds me of past vacations and trips I hope to take.
3) Try a statement shoe. These Charlotte Olympia t-strap pumps say it all.
