Creating an #OOTD (Outfit of the Day)

Doesn’t it seem like everyone is using social media to show off what they’re wearing today? Don’t worry if it’s not second nature to you. Here are some tips on how to create your own #OOTD!

The phrase “You have to start somewhere” can apply when putting together an outfit. I’m using this jacket as the beginning piece and working my way down.

Dubois Tapestry Jacket by Rhyme Los Angeles ($89, Piperlime)

This printed jacket has a great shape and can be worn many different ways.

Next, choose a color within the print to highlight. I am choosing navy.

Navy Lace Peplum Top by Dex ($44, Von Z)

Since the jacket is shorter I paired it with a longer top. This feminine lightweight fabric is also a nice balance to the more structured fabric of the jacket.

Since the top is a longer choose a more narrow pant.

Ponte Panel Leggings ($102.50, Madwell)

Both the jacket and the top are pretty feminine so this leather panel knit pant has just enough edge to keep it interesting.

It’s time to accessorize!

Belanie Booties ($119, Nine West)

Instead of black I prefer these micro suede booties in tobacco. It adds more dimension to the outfit and FYI this color goes with everything!

Cedar Street Maise ($298, Kate Spade)

How’s this for a pop of color? Although this handbag comes in a wide variety of colors don’t you have a bag in your closet that will already serve that purpose? Instead choose this gorgeous shade of red

Add statement jewelry to complete your look!
