WGN Midday Fix: Golden Globes Inspired Looks for Everyday

I loved watching the Golden Globes red carpet. Picking my favorite looks and of course watching the actual awards show and finding out who won in each category. This year I was really paying attention to red carpet trends and I was wondering how I could incorporate my favorite looks from the Globes and create more wearable versions for everyday. Read More

When it Rains it Pours

I don’t know about you but I prefer the snow over rain. Between this weekend and yesterday our blowouts are really struggling. Here are two quick fixes to help you look great even if you don’t have an umbrella with you.

#1 Wrap it Up – this is one of my favorite products. Watch Sarah Potempa demonstrate a quick tutorial & then order it on her website. It’s only $12!

#2 Side braid – maybe it’s the fact that I just saw The Hunger Games: The Mockingjay Part 1 but this hairstyle has really been at the top of my mind. The great thing is that when it gets messed up it looks even better! Watch one of my favorite fashion chicks Lauren Conrad get her side braid working in just under 3 minutes.

Baby It’s Cold Outside

I had a chance to catch up with a few of my girlfriends last night and we got on the topic of puffy coats and whether or not they could be fashionable. As an owner of a few fashionable puffy coats myself I don’t feel any shame when I’m wearing mine around town. To be fair living in Chicago during the Winter months allows you some leeway between fashion and function. Of course there are occasions where I question a woman wearing a puffy coat when she is going bare legged in heels. You can be hot or you can be cold, but you can’t be both at the same time. So as long as your outfit is winterized I say go for it – stay warm, be bold, wear a puffy coat.
